Optical Network on Chip(oNOC)

Elimination of Latency Bottlenecks

Optical Network on Chip(oNOC)

oNOC (Optical Network on Chip) is an optical link‑based on‑chip interconnect architecture that delivers high‑bandwidth, low‑latency, low‑energy data transmission between multiple chips or cores within a single package.

Technical Principle

By building a fixed or reconfigurable communication network topology—such as optical broadcast or wavelength‑division multiplexing topologies—on a photonic chip, different electronic chips can connect to one or more nodes within it, enabling data exchange over the on‑chip optical network.
